I have a new obsession – Undergrowth Design – I have to have that sugar bowl!! Once again, here’s a quick update on some further products that fit in with various trends I’ve posted about over the last few months. Enjoy!

Just a few more products I’ve seen recently that illustrate previously mentioned trends. Enjoy!

How cool are these cushions?! I was thinking about which trend to add them to; there’s the type slogans, the alphabet lettering, a Union Jack – and then I realised I didn’t need to assign them to a trend as they’re just so damn hot!

You can purchase all of these and more from Etsy. AND as if the cushion weren’t great enough they are also eco friendly. The felt used in her cushions are made from 100% post consumer recycled plastic water bottles. Every pound of felt is equivalent to 10 water bottles that would have otherwise ended up in a landfill. Even more of an excuse to buy one.

I have mentioned this company before when talking about the popularity of the alphabet as Somerville Scarves do a great alphabet cushion. Having just looked at their website again this evening, I have noticed not only how great their products are but also how many of the current trends they are embracing. Somerville Scarves make hand screen printed scarves (obviously!) and cushions in really great bold, contemporary designs. Their products are available on their website and also one of my favourite online stores Not On The High Street:

trendIt seems the trend for Union Jacks is growing into an obsession with British-ness in general. What with the upcoming Olympics and the ongoing recession, there seems to be a real trend to stick together and look forward, which has culminated in a celebration of all things British:

trend1The Union Jack is having a bit of a revival at the moment with it being used on all manner of products. The great thing about the trend this time around, however is the number of different colours being used to illustrate it, subverting the way it is usually seen. Many are giving it a very soft, country feel and therefore completely subverting it from the angry symbol used by punks:
